Is OurDream free? The free tier, honestly described
You can start on OurDream without paying, and that free window is enough to answer the only question that matters: does it write well enough to be worth it. This page is about what you get, what you do not, and how to use the free tier properly.
What free actually includes
A real conversation, not a scripted demo. You open a chat and talk, and the model behind those replies is the same one the paid tiers use — the free window is a quantity limit, not a quality one.
No payment details are requested before you have read anything. For a service in this category that ordering is the point: you should never be buying writing quality you have not seen.
What sits behind the paywall
Message volume first, then the extras — longer memory windows, image generation and voice. Those are genuine upgrades rather than artificial restrictions on the basics.
If image generation is specifically what you came for, that is worth knowing before you judge the free tier as thin. The chat page covers what the conversation side gives you on its own.
Using the free window well
Do not spend it on small talk. Mention a specific detail early, then come back to it much later and see whether it remembers. Change the subject abruptly. Push the tone somewhere different from where the character started.
Those three probes tell you more in twenty minutes than a week of casual chatting, because they test memory and consistency rather than the opening message, which every app in this category gets right.
Adults only, characters fictional
OurDream is an 18+ service. Every companion is fictional and AI-generated — they are not modelled on real individuals, and any resemblance is coincidental.
No card to begin
You read real replies before any payment details are requested.
Same model, capped volume
The free tier limits how much you get, not how well it writes.
Twenty minutes is enough
Memory and tone consistency surface fast if you probe them deliberately.
Questions people ask
Is OurDream AI free?
You can start and hold a conversation for free. Paid plans add message volume, longer memory, image generation and voice.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. Payment details are only needed at the upgrade step.
Is the free version's writing worse?
No. It is the same model — what is capped is volume and the extra features.
Can I generate images on the free tier?
Image generation sits on the paid side. The free window covers the conversation itself.
